While less than two minutes long, the video is packed to the brim with glimpses at the action that will be featured in the new Terminator sequel, as well as thoughts from the film's cast and crew. The fast cuts, expletive expressions of excitement and explosive visuals paint a picture of a film that, in the words of director Tim Miller, is "relentless. It just does not stop."
Throughout the featurette, those working on Dark Fate emphasize that the film will grab audiences from the beginning and never let go. Said producer/co-writer James cameron, "It's R-rated. It's grim. It's gritty. It's fast. It's intense." He went on to explain that the film "follows tonally in the footsteps of [The Terminator] and T2" in its "adrenaline rush feeling" and "sense of terror."
Linda Hamilton, who reprises her role as Sarah Connor, also spoke to Dark Fate's intensity, declaring, "the action is ten times bigger. It's like, holy sh-t, holy sh-t, holy sh-t."
With a number of franchise veterans reprising their roles from previous films, as well as the emphasis on the pace and intensity of this new release, the featurette seeks to assure fans that Dark Fate will bring back the best of the series, while also driving the action into uncharted territory.
Directed by Tim Miller and produced by James Cameron, Terminator: Dark Fate stars Arnold Schwarzenegger, Linda Hamilton, Mackenzie Davis, Gabriel Luna, Natalia Reyes and Diego Boneta. The film opens Nov. 1.
