In a recent interview, actor John David Washington commented on the idea of joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe, specifically if asked to play Mr. Fantastic within an upcoming Fantastic Four movie.

Washington confirmed in an interview on Nerd Reactor that he'd be open to playing the role of Mr. Fantastic if Marvel decides to create another Fantastic Four film. "I'd say," Washington laughed. "Well, thank you for having me, thank you for taking this meeting...where do I sign?"

The role of Mr. Fantastic has been portrayed across four different live-action Fantastic Four movies by actors Alex Hyde-White, Ioan Gruffudd and Miles Teller. Marvel Studios has not officially announced a new Fantastic Four movie; however, studio president Kevin Feige did tease the prospect of a new film being in the cards last year at Comic-Con International in San Diego.

Additionally, there are rumors that Johnathan Majors will play the role of Kang the Conqueror within the MCU. In the comics, Kang's original identity is Nathaniel Richards, a descendant of Reed Richards. If the MCU retains this origin story of Kang, then it could point towards future adventures of the Fantastic Four.

John David Washington is a football-player-turned actor who has starred in the HBO series Ballers, as well as Spike Lee's 2018 film BlacKkKlansman. Washington has also appeared in Of Monsters and Men and The Old Man and the Gun. His most recent role is the leading star in Christopher Nolan's futuristic mystery, Tenet.
