The Ten Rings shall rise again! At least that's what photos scored by Latino Review suggest. What's the evidence? The Iron Man 3 crew was given hats featuring the symbol of the fictional terrorist organization.
As you can see below, it looks like director and co-writer Shane Black will integrate the terrorist group that captured Tony Stark in the 2008 Marvel Studios film, inadvertently inspiring Stark to create the Iron Man armor. At the time, fans assumed this was a reference to Iron Man's comic book nemesis The Mandarin, who wears ten alien rings, each with its own special power. The symbol seems to bolster long-standing assertions that Ben Kingsley will play the character in Iron Man 3.
Co-written by Black and Drew Pearce (No Heroics), the third Iron Man is loosely based on the comic story “Extremis” by Warren Ellis and Adi Granov, which features a villain injected with a nanotech version of the Super-Soldier Serum created by the military. Iron Man 3 will see the return of stars Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle and Jon Favreau, joined by newcomers Kingsley, Guy Pearce, Rebecca Hall, James Badge Dale and Ashley Hamilton. It opens May 3, 2013.
