Telltale’s “The Walking Dead” is “Starved for Help”

In April, Telltale Games released its long-awaited video game based on Robert Kirkman’s popular comic book series, “The Walking Dead,” with the first of a five chapter series. The first release, “A New Day,” began the story of convicted felon Lee Everett, who escapes custody and fights against the undead while protecting a young girl named Clementine. The release was Telltale’s fastest-selling release to date, moving over a million units in about two weeks.

This week, Telltale follows up with the second chapter, “Starved For Help.” Lee once again takes center stage as he lives with the harsh decisions made in the first game, making alliances with some people while causing others to mistrust him. The journey doesn’t get any easier, as the “tailored narrative” twists around depending on these choices, leading the survivors of the group to once again battle hordes of the undead.

Although Telltale hasn’t revealed any of the story details in its latest release, we have seen the first few minutes of it in action, and it doesn’t lose any of its intensity. Like the previous game, your decisions only tell part of the story. The zombie encounters are still quite chilling, as you have to press buttons and make the correct movements in order to survive each encounter. This was especially true in a situation where one zombie crawled a little too close to Lee, forcing him to use a makeshift weapon to stop it once and for all before it could make him a snack.

“Starved For Help” is available now on Xbox Live, and releases this Friday for PlayStation Network, and PC download services such as Steam. The individual release sells for $4.99 (same as the first game), but if you purchased a Season Pass (which goes for $19.99), you can download it free of charge.
