By the end of Season 1 of Loki, there were a plethora of variants of the God of Mischief, each one stranger than the last. If an alligator can be a Loki, though...could one of the Teletubbies?Loki director Kate Herron had previously mentioned that she took some inspiration from the surreal BBC children's TV show, and more recently, she revealed in an interview with ForAllNerdsTV that this influence specifically showed up in the aesthetic of The Void, the setting for Episode 5. "I haven’t spoken about this yet, but the Teletubbies reference — it was Episode 5," she said. "I wanted The Void to feel like kind of an overgrown garden because it’s like this forgotten place... I was just like, 'Oh my god, you know what it is? It’s like the Teletubbies, it’s like rolling hills of dystopia, and that’s what we’re going for.'" With that homage confirmed, it didn't take long for the official Teletubbies Twitter to take notice.RELATED: Teletubbies' Vaccination Announcement Has People Debating About Their Shared Birthday

The tweet included an image of one of the four Teletubbies, dressed in Loki's trademark horns. The name "Dipsy" is displayed in the same style of mixed-font lettering as Loki's official logo, and Dipsy is set against the backdrop of a windmill which looks uncannily similar to the golden clock used in the show's character posters.

"Loki, meet Dipsy - we’ll see you in The Void," the tweet reads. Herron is tagged, and she was happy to join the fun, responding, "This is the best moment of my career." She also echoed the green heart emoji used in the Teletubbies' tweet, a clear reference -- as is Dipsy's appearance -- to the thematic color that Loki uses. (After all, if it works for Alligator Loki...)

Teletubbies was a BBC children's TV series which drew criticism early in its heyday for using gibberish dialogue rather than using proper language for the sake of educating its target audience of babies and toddlers. It starred four colorful infantile creatures with antennae on their heads and television screens on their bellies, leading to plenty of surreal imagery that made it a hit for teenagers and adults with a taste for the psychedelic.

While Dipsy may just be chaotic enough to deserve a place in The Void with Loki, many of those commenting on the Twitter thread couldn't help finding the image a little...terrifying. Fortunately, the chances of Dipsy making an appearance in Loki Season 2 are slim.
