WARNING: The following contains major spoilers for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #111 by Kevin Eastman, Tom Waltz, Sophie Campbell, Jodi Nishijima, Ronda Pattison, and Shawn Lee, on sale now.

Being a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle means a lot of things. It means looking out for your city and your family every single moment of every single day. It means expecting the unexpected, and knowing that danger is always waiting just around the corner.

Usually, that danger comes in the form of rival ninjas or monstrous mutants. And in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #111, that danger has taken the form of two giant mutants waiting to be released from their cage who appear to be versions of the classic TMNT movie villains Tokka and Rahzar.

Since the Turtles moved into their new dojo in Mutant Town, Old Hob has been wondering what they're up to. On a similar note, the Turtles have also been curious about Hob's dealings, so Leonardo went undercover to investigate. Inside Hob's operation, Leo rescued three small, weasel mutant children. Even though Hob had a clean shot, he let Leo go, though it seems he might be rethinking letting them get away considering he has sent two spies into the Turtles' dojo.

However, the Turtles already know that the spies are coming and catch them before they can do any harm. One of them finds the kids, but Michelangelo and Jennika take him down, and the crew leaves both of his agents hanging from a lamppost outside of Hob's Mutanimals headquarters. After the two have been cut down, Karai visits Old Hob for a meeting. Hob is desperate to renegotiate their deal, offering intel or Triceraton weapons to make up for his the lost mutant children.

However, an unsympathetic Karai tells Hob that if he can't do something to hold up his end of the bargain, then the Foot Clan will have to find something of his they do want and take it by force. When Old Hob asks Karai point-blank what she wants, she tells him she has a few ideas and opens a door in the facility that leads to two of the biggest threats the Turtles have ever faced.

Behind the door, in a large room, and on the other side of a giant set of iron bars are the two things that Karai wants from Hob, a giant wolf and a snapping turtle, who bear a striking resemblance to the villains from 1991's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze.

Tokka Rahzar Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Movie

Although they were originally introduced in The Secret of the Ooze, Tokka and Rahzar have made various appearances in comics, cartoons and other Turtles media too. While they've been goofy and menacing in equal measure in various continuities, they seem set up to be serious threats to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles here.

If Karai can successfully bring these two giant-size mutants under the control of the Foot Clan, there's no telling how dangerous or how deadly Tokka and Rahzar could be. If they're half as dangerous as they appear, their very presence could completely shift the balance of power in Mutant Town and put the Ninja Turtles on the defensive.
