The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are one of the greatest and most well-known properties on the globe. These heroes in a half shell have been around the world and back multiple times and just seem to always be around. What do very popular franchises like this usually have? Crossovers that's what.

In the life of the TMNT, there have been tons of crossovers. With how long they've been around, this definitely comes as no surprise; however, the amount of characters they've crossed interdimensional paths with is still staggering. You'd think picking a top 10 list out of these crossovers would be a difficult task but we've got it covered.

10 CARTOON ALL-STARS

This was a kid's dream come true crossover in the '80s. Michelangelo meets Alvin and the Chipmunks, Daffy Duck, Bugs Bunny, Alf, Tigger, Pooh Bear, Slimer, and more. It really seems like this short cartoon special would make anyone go crazy in a rush to watch. Well, we really wish that was the case because this crossover was actually pretty darn bad.

This special was nothing more than your average anti-drugs video for kids and a really bad one at that. What a tease and more importantly, a wasted opportunity.

9 INFESTATION 2

This special crossover event by the team over at IDW Comics was pretty good, even if the event's covers were just as much a tease as the Cartoon All-Stars special. This event features a Lovecraftian type alien species infesting and attacking multiple universes, creating an easy crossover event.

We definitely know that people had to be salty after seeing the covers of these issues featuring the TMNT, Transformers, GI Joe, and more, only to open up the comic and find that none of these guys actually meet.

8 ARCHIE

Finally, a crossover where the real Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles actually meet the people they're supposed to be crossing, in this case, the Archie gang. However, it still somehow managed to be as much a tease as the last two crossovers. How's that you ask?

Well, this comic was an anthology, meaning there were multiple stories inside. Despite the issue focusing on the heroes in a half shell, only the first short story inside featured them. Yeah, pretty big let down just like the last two.

7 SAVAGE DRAGON

Now, this is a crossover! Admittedly, most people probably have no clue who the heck the Savage Dragon is. You really can't blame anyone for not knowing the guy due to how niche he was at the time. However, you've really got to pay respect to Savage Dragon, as he was one of the first to give the Ninja Turtles the light of day for a crossover comic book.

Those independent comic book series guys really have got to stick together and that's the exact reason that this early crossover happened.

6 THE X-FILES: CONSPIRACY

The X-Files: Conspiracy is one of our favorite crossovers featuring the Ninja Turtles. It perfectly melds the tone and stories from both properties, creating a single universe that compliments both franchises. As you can imagine, the crossover contains abductions, experiments, and a whole lot of secrets that any X-Files or TMNT fan would enjoy.

The X-Files guys would go on to crossover with even more IDW comic series during this era, as their crossover with the turtles was only the beginning.

5 GHOSTBUSTERS

What do you get when you take two groups of heroes from New York and put them into one dimension to work together? A really good and entertaining comic, duh! How could you not get excited by just looking at the cover for this masterpiece? Seriously, how did it take so long for someone to get this idea off the ground?

Even IDW called it a story 30 years in the making because the crossover was released as a celebration of both Ghostbusters and TMNT's 30th anniversaries. Heck, it should have been 2 days in the making because we've wanted this forever.

4 BATMAN

Another crossover that surprisingly took quite a while to happen. Batman, it seems, has become close friends with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in the past decade and we're all for it. By now, Batman and the turtles have crossed paths on multiple occasions, with each meeting being just as good as the last.

There have been multiple comic series and even a great animated movie. If you haven't watched or read any of these epic crossovers, we suggest you get right on that.

3 INJUSTICE 2

What's even better than the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles only meeting The Dark Knight? The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles meeting all the DC universe, plus Hellboy and two Mortal Kombat characters, of course. The amazing Netherealm Studios really outdid itself when it surprised fighting game fans everywhere with this reveal for Injustice 2.

Few people expected the turtles to show up in this game; thankfully, they did and Injustice 2 was even better for it.

2 MIGHTY MORPHIN POWER RANGERS

This is the only crossover that feels more like a 'match made in heaven' than the legendary Ghostbusters event. While the turtles did have a crossover with Power Rangers in Space, that sadly used one of the worst versions of the turtles. However this comic by Boom! Studios rights all the wrongs presented by that.

Gone are the horrible live-action turtles costumes and dumb episode plotlines. In their place, this crossover offers amazing art and the turtles everyone loves meeting the classic and original Power Rangers. Definitely a must-read for any fan.

1 USAGI YOJIMBO

No matter how you cut it, Usagi Yojimbo tops every crossover on this list absolutely free. The character has become a close friend to the turtles, crossing over with almost every iteration of the heroes in a half shell. Yojimbo's presence has become so entwined with the turtles, many people don't even know the character is actually from his own comic series.

With a relationship like that and some of the best-written events in the game, there's no way Usagi Yojimbo and TMNT's crossovers do not take the top spot.
