The 1990's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie is heading back to the big screen to celebrate its 30th Anniversary. The event will take place over three days in November, courtesy of Fathom Events and Warner Bros.

"We are excited to celebrate 30 years of a film that brings families together in a fun, entertaining and hilarious way," said Fathom Events' Vice President of Studio Relations Tom Lucas. "As audiences discovered in 1990, the adventures of the heroic turtles are truly meant to be seen on a giant screen in a darkened theater, so we hope audiences of all ages will make Leonardo, Donatello, Michelangelo and Raphael part of their entertainment plans."

Taking influence from the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comics created by Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird, the 1990 movie was the first film adaptation of the popular franchise, with the Turtles being brought to live-action with the help and talent of the Jim Henson Creature Shop.

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie opened on March 30, 1990. Riding the popularity of Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello and Michelangelo, it soon rocketed to the number one spot at the domestic box office, where it stayed for four consecutive weekends. The movie would go on to become one of the highest-grossing independent movies of all time.

Directed by Steve Barron, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 30th Anniversary event will screen in hundreds of theaters around America Nov. 5-7. For information on tickets and participating theaters, check out FathomEvents.com.
