Nickelodeon and Seth Rogen's Point Grey Pictures are rebooting the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise with an all-new CG-animated movie.

The film -- slated for a theatrical release -- will be directed by Jeff Rowe from a script by Brendan O'Brian, and is a partnership between Point Grey Pictures’ Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, James Weaver and Josh Fagen, Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon EVP of Animation Production and Development Ramsey Naito.

"Adding Seth, Evan and James’ genius to the humor and action that’s already an integral part of TMNT is going to make this a next-level reinvention of the property," ViacomCBS President of Kids & Family Brian Robbins said in a statement. "I’m looking forward to see what they do, and I know that Ramsey Naito and her team are excited to take the Nick Animation Studio into another great direction with their first-ever CG-animated theatrical."

Nickelodeon and Netflix are also producing a Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2D animated film, though these two projects are unrelated.

Directed by Jeff Rowe from a script by Brendan O'Brian, the yet-to-be-titled Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie has yet to receive a release date.
