"Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" Adds Knoxville, Shalhoub

The live-action "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" film has added two new names to its cast late in the game, as first reported by Deadline. "Jackass" and "Bad Grandpa" star Johnny Knoxville will voice traditional Turtle leader Leonardo, and "Monk" star Tony Shalhoub will voice Turtle mentor Splinter.

During the filming of "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles," the part of Leonardo was physically performed by Pete Ploszek, and Splinter by Danny Woodburn. According to Deadline, distributor Paramount Pictures had always considered using different voices in the film itself.

Directed by Jonathan Liebesman, "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" also stars Megan Fox, Noel Fisher, Jeremy Howard, Alan Ritchson, William Fichtner, Will Arnett and Whoopi Goldberg, with a scheduled release date of Aug. 8.
