The Heroes in a Half Shell are returning in April to New York City.

Talking with Collider, Producer Andrew Form revealed that Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 will move into production in the spring. "We’re in prep right now," he said. "We start shooting in New York in April."

Form also commented on the inclusion of fan-favorite cartoon henchmen Bebop and Rocksteady, who were apparently partly created for the first film, but never used.

"We designed and we did lots of work on all of them and then only so many fit in the box," he said, "and luckily we have another chance to make another one of these movies and some of those characters that got cut out of the first one can make it into the second one."

The  Michael Bay-produced 2014 film earned $477 million worldwide and garnered 21 ercent Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2, which is being directed by Earth to Echo's Dave Green, is scheduled to hit theaters on June 3, 2016.
