New movie, new Shredder: Variety has word that the upcoming "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2" will feature Brian Tee in the role of Shredder. Tee takes over from Tohoru Masamune, who played the famous "Turtles" archnemesis in the previous 2014 film that rebooted the live-action franchise.

Tee has prior experience with comic book-based films, playing Noburo Mori in 2013's "The Wolverine." He also appeared in the recently released global box office smash "Fast & Furious 7," and has a role as Katashi Hamada in the upcoming "Jurassic World." Tee joins a growing cast that includes the returning Megan Fox (April O'Neil) and Will Arnett (Vern Fenwick), plus fellow newcomers Stephen Amell (Casey Jones) and Tyler Perry (Baxter Stockman).

Shredder has been the main antagonist in nearly every version of "Ninja Turtles" lore, created by franchise masterminds Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird and first appearing in 1984's "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" #1.

Directed by David Green, "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2" is scheduled for release on June 3, 2016.
