WARNING: The following contains spoilers for Season 1 of Netflix's Teenage Bounty Hunters, streaming now.

Netflix's Teenage Bounty Hunters focuses on the Wesley twins, Sterling (Maddie Phillips) and Blair (Anjelica Bette Fellini), as they try to hide their bounty hunting lifestyle from their upper-class, white Republican parents in Atlanta. They live in a posh bubble, but after lucking into the business, their handler Bowser (Kadeem Hardison) finds it's useful having two white teenage girls to help him out in undercover situations he wouldn't normally be able to infiltrate as a Black man.

Over the course of Season 1, many humorous hauls ensue as the girls bring in criminals, aka skips, while trying to balance their loves lives and keep their secret from their pretentious Christian schoolmates. It all comes to a head in the finale, however, when the girls realize their own mom, Debbie (Virginia Williams), is actually wanted for crimes she committed before moving to town. This leads to a wild ending with a couple of dark secrets coming to light that changes everything for the twins.

THE NEW TWIN

After they fall out with Bowser, who thinks the girls hid the truth about their mom, Sterling has a lock-in party at school. but it falls apart as her mortal enemy-turned-crush April wants to break off their budding romance. April is afraid to come out as gay with Sterling, especially as April's strict dad, John, is back out from jail. The girls actually wrangled John for beating up a prostitute so this hurts Sterling both ways, leaving her and her ex, Luke, trying to patch things up.

Luke's actually interested in April now, though, so it gets really awkward and all these emotions result in Sterling breaking down and being picked up by Debbie. However, as they drive off, Sterling notices the unkempt state of her mom's pickup and realizes this is a doppelgänger as she doesn't even know their dog's name. The woman admits she's Debbie's crazy twin, Dana, and Sterling's being kidnapped. Dana duped Sterling's dad into taking the truck, and it's now clear what Debbie was hiding all season long.

THE DARK SIDE OF DANA

Dana was the one who burned down an abortion clinic years ago, and since then, Debbie's been paying her off to stay away from the family. She doesn't want to turn her twin in, but it's caused the family a lot of distress. Seeing Debbie hiding money and keeping guns in storage units, the girls thought she might actually have been a criminal kingpin, so at least Sterling knows Dana's the real culprit.

Word gets back to Debbie and Blair, and the family panics with Blair calling in Bowser after they realize what Dana's done. Bowser doesn't think twice about saving his sidekick and he and Blair speed off to a reservation thanks to info from his rival, Terrance. There, a shootout occurs and Bowser puts a bullet in the mastermind, Dana's redneck beau, Levi, only for Dana to try to shove a gagged Sterling into the van to escape and try to extort money on her own.

THE SISTERLY TWIST

However, Debbie arrives on the scene and holds a shotgun to Dana's head. Sterling goes free and the family's reunited with Bowser calming his latest skip, worth $90,000. However, Dana drops one more bombshell after she and Debbie use the show's signature telepathic link to discuss a big secret, admitting she's Sterling's real mom, making her and Blair cousins.

The season ends there with Bowser confused as hell and the girls in a state of shock. One can tell Bowser's worried about turning Dana in as the cop sirens surround them because now he realizes the importance of Dana to Sterling. Blair and Sterling are left in disbelief, wondering how much of a lie they've been living all this time. This revelation also leaves fans curious to find out just how Debbie got ahold of Sterling, faking it all this time with her husband, Anderson, and what inspired Dana to take money to stay away.

Netflix's Teenage Bounty Hunters stars Maddie Phillips, Anjelica Bette Fellini, Kadeem Hardison, Virginia Williams, Spencer House and Mackenzie Astin. Season 1 is now streaming on Netflix.
