Actor Tyler Posey recently shared what he's most excited about when it comes to reprising the role of Alpha werewolf Scott McCall in the planned Teen Wolf movie.

"I'm just excited to play this character again," Posey told Entertainment Weekly. "I miss him, I love him." The actor added that he's especially excited to see how the main cast of characters have aged, noting, "We were in high school for what seemed like 10 years."

"I'm excited to see them age and get out of high school," Posey continued. "High school was such a character in itself on the show, so I'm excited to see how it's going to be without that sort of character of a school involved. It will be interesting."

During the same conversation, Posey reflected on the role the relationship between Scott and his best friend Stiles Stillinski played in the original series, and also teased how that might evolve in the movie.

"What really carried the show were the relationships, mostly between my character and Dylan O'Brien's character, Stiles," he explained. "That to me is what really carried the show and what made people fall in love with it."

He added that the supernatural and romantic elements also played a big part in the show's success, adding, "I think as long as we have the element of a really great relationship, whether it's friends or romantic, then everything else kind of falls into place."

Loosely based on the 1985 Teen Wolf film starring Michael J. Fox, MTV's Teen Wolf series ran for a total of 100 episodes across six seasons before ending in September 2017. The series starred Posey, O'Brien, Crystal Reed, Holland Roden, Colton Haynes, Arden Cho and Tyler Hoechlin. It was first reported in late September that Paramount+ would be bringing back the popular MTV series in the form of an original film.

The official synopsis for Paramount+'s Teen Wolf movie reads,

"The wolves are howling once again, calling for the return of Banshees, Werecoyotes, Hellhounds, Kitsunes and every other shapeshifter in the night. But only a Werewolf like Scott McCall, no longer a teenager yet still an Alpha, can gather both new allies and reunite trusted friends to fight back against what could be the most powerful and deadliest enemy they've ever faced."

While the Teen Wolf movie has yet to receive an official release date, Paramount+ confirmed that all six seasons of the show will start streaming on the platform in December.
