When Teen Wolf: The Movie premieres later this month, fans can expect it to begin with the revival of a beloved character who met her demise during the TV series.

Jeff Davis, the film's executive producer and writer, revealed to SFX that the adaptation of his MTV show will start with Allison Argent returning from the dead. Allison was Scott McCall's love interest, who was killed in Season 3 of the Teen Wolf series. She comes back in the movie as Scott returns to his hometown to rally long-time friends and new allies against a serious threat. “What brings them back is incited by Chris Argent [JR Bourne], who has been having these mysterious visions and dreams of his daughter, Allison,” Davis said. “There’s the idea that his daughter might never have actually crossed over when she died."

Davis went on to explain, "He finds out that Scott is experiencing the same thing, too. Scott has been seeing her in his mind, in his dreams, and thinking, ‘Are these memories or is this something real?’ And they keep becoming more and more real to him.”

Teen Wolf's Crystal Reed Is Back as Allison

Series star Crystal Reed reprises her role as Allison Argent for Teen Wolf: The Movie. Allison was one of the show's main characters during her run, a descendant of a line of prolific French werewolf hunters. She possessed supernatural hunting skills, plus martial arts and archery expertise. She and Scott develop a strong relationship early in the show, but she dies in Scott's arms during the penultimate episode of Season 3 after being stabbed in the chest by an Oni warrior.

Reed went on to star in various shows following her departure from Teen Wolf, including Ghostland and Swamp Thing. She also made a guest appearance in Season 5 of the series as Allison's ancestor Marie-Jeanne Valet.

Following the announcement of the movie in September 2021, it was confirmed Reed, Tyler Posey (Scott McCall) Tyler Hoechlin (Derek Hale) and several other characters from the series would feature in the film, though other staples from the show such as Dylan O'Brien and Arden Cho declined to appear. The first full-length trailer was unveiled last December, reuniting Scott and Allison. Russell Mulcahy, who directed episodes of the series, helms the big-screen continuation.

Davis has talked about how he crammed an entire season's worth of content into Teen Wolf: The Movie to give fans as many memorable moments and as much emotional depth as possible. The show ran for six seasons between 2011 and 2017, until MTV ended the show due to its desire to move away from scripted programming and return to its roots, primarily unscripted content and music.

Teen Wolf: The Movie premieres via Paramount+ on Jan. 26.
