In MTV’s Teen Wolf series, Cho portrayed the role of Kira Yukimura, who was first introduced in the second half of Season 3 as a recurring character. She was quickly revealed to be a Thunder Kitsune, a person with the supernatural ability to absorb and create electricity and lightning. Cho was promoted to series regular for Seasons 4 and 5, where she later became a love interest of Tyler Posey’s Scott McCall. The popular teen drama served as Cho’s first big break following a series of one-episode appearances on shows like CSI: NY and Pretty Little Liars.

The Korean-American actress recently starred in Netflix's legal drama Partner Track, which was canceled not long after its series debut. Her next major project is Netflix’s highly anticipated live-action series adaptation of Avatar: The Last Airbender, in which she's set to play bounty hunter June.

An Incomplete Teen Wolf Reunion

In a previous interview, Cho opened about her decision to not return for the Teen Wolf movie, confirming that she'd been offered less money than her other former co-stars. "I wasn't saying 'no' necessarily for me or because I was angry," she said. "I was saying 'no' because I hope that there will be more equality in the future."

Another significant cast member of the series also opted not to return for Teen Wolf: The Movie. Maze Runner star Dylan O’Brien, who played fan-favorite Stiles Stilinski in the original series, said that turning down the project was a difficult decision for him. “It was something I was trying to make work, but it all happened very fast,” O’Brien explained. “We didn’t really know that it was happening and they kind of just threw it at us a little bit, which is fine because we all love the show. We were trying to figure it out. Ultimately, I just decided it was left in a really good place for me and I still want to leave it there.”

Teen Wolf: The Movie is available to stream on Paramount+ along with all six seasons of the original series.
