WARNING: The following contains spoilers for Teen Titans #47 by Robbie Thompson, Javi Fernandez, Marcelo Maiolo and Rob Leigh, on sale now.

In the current incarnation of Teen Titans, there's been a lot of focus placed on paired dynamics. We've seen Crush and Roundabout becoming close as he works his way back after betraying the team, while Damian had to get over his feelings for Djinn. This created that teenage angst and overall chemistry many of us could relate to but there's one particular bond that stands out.

Now, as Issue #47 brings this run to an end, the two young heroes involved officially become a couple, although trouble's already brewing on the horizon.

This is none other than Wallace West/Kid Flash and Emiko/Red Arrow, who finally seal the deal with a passionate kiss. It's been a long time coming because apart from flirting with each other, they've healed together following Deathstroke manipulating the team. Emiko put an arrow through Slade and was wracked by grief thereafter, struggling with the notion she killed someone, while Wallace also had to contend with demons of old.

Not only did Slade play him, but Damian weaponized both vigilantes as he imprisoned villains and mind-wiped them. This led to them parting ways as the team no longer wanted to follow that bloody brand of justice. Now, they're bringing those brainwashed villains in again but it hasn't been easy with Joystick controlling both Wallace and Emiko's minds as they attempted a date. He uses them to lure Roundhouse and Crush in, but luckily, as they all brawl they're able to appeal to the light inside Emiko to snap her out of it.

She uses her explosive arrows to bring the building down as Wallace speeds around causing chaos, and with this Joystick's defeated. Emiko's left in a frenzy, though, as Wallace apparently isn't breathing, but it turns out his heart's beating so fast, they can't detect it. Relieved, he and Emiko lock lips for quite some time as their teammates give them space in an awkward moment. But the duo doesn't care as they waited a while for this, being there for each other as best friends and now wanting to take the next step.

But there's one slight hitch because after Damian leaves them a letter, they head to Titans Tower where Nightwing offers them an invite to join him, Cyborg, Starfire, Donna Troy and Beast Boy. They're ecstatic at the possibility, but there's one member of Dick's team that could cause friction: Raven. In Issue #19, as they fought the tech villain, Joran, Raven and Wallace kissed after building an emotional connection, so we've got a potential love triangle on our hands. Both ladies are pretty feisty and headstrong, so it remains to be seen how Wallace will handle it if tensions flare up as both teams mix and mingle.
