When the Teen Titans first appeared in comics, their look was tame but original. After all, it was the 1960s so it wasn't as though comic book artists wanted to be too risky. Especially during a time when the comic book industry was in its infancy.

Flash forward to modern times and some of these characters don't look anything like their 1960s versions. Their old, dull costumes traded in for a more sleek appearance that looks just as good on paper as it does onscreen.

10 Supergirl

Supergirl along with her counterpart from Krypton has, unfortunately, stayed similar to their original look. This isn't necessarily a bad thing as their red cape and S on their chest is their calling card after all. Just like the old saying goes 'why fix what isn't broken?' While most of her costume is relatively the same as what it was when she was first created, she does show a little more skin than what she did in the past. Even if it is just the bellybutton.

9 Kid Flash

Kid Flash never really had the most original of costumes. Since it was basically just a yellow and red version of his mentor's Flash all red costume. Though, he has been given somewhat of an upgrade when it comes to style. The red lightning bolt on his chest was changed to a white circle with a red outline. While his original lightning bolt now has a modern feel to it and it also now glows when he is powered up.

8 Terra

Terra

Unlike Supergirl, Terra's image since her introduction has changed drastically over the years. While the shape of her mask has stayed constant, the color of it changed from red to black. Her yellow and red costume was switched to a white and black one, while her utility belt was given a sleeker look to it.

Her blonde hair was grown out, breaking her away from that vintage 1980s look. Overall, her costume's color scheme and overall feel were given a much-needed upgrade.

7 Speedy

Speedy used to be an almost exact clone of Robin with his black mask and yellow gloves along with that forgettable hat he used to wear that resembled a paper boat. Thankfully, the Robin Hood look went out the door and in came one of the more relaxed costumes ever created. He switched the color of his mask from black to red but off came his original hat in exchange for a green cap. His sleeves are ripped off to reveal his tattoos and biceps.

6 Starfire

Unlike some of the more conservative costumes of many female comic characters at the time of her creation, Starfire always had a risqué look, with her stomach and cleavage being shown to the world. She had and still has one of the more revealing superhero costumes out there. Her violet color scheme has been updated to a darker version and she is given a red gem by her bellybutton. However, besides that, her costume is pretty much the same only with a more video game feel.

5 Beast Boy

Beast Boy from DC.

Mixing things up with a character's costume can sometimes be the jolt the character needs to remain popular. That said, if the original color scheme is still fresh, just make some minor tweaks here and there with the costume and leave the rest alone.

The only difference between Beast Boy of the 1980s and the modern version of Beast Boy is that he has more toned abs and a big boy haircut. After all, the guy changes into animals, any costume could work with that.

4 Aqualad

Aqualad has one of the dumbest superhero names of all time. It gives off a whole 1950s parody vibe every time it is said aloud. Even though he has a stupid name, no one would ever say it to his face. The guy is ripped and has a stare that would make Jason Mamoa's Aquaman's knees quiver from fear. While the only thing Aqualad fears is spandex, which is quite apparent by his comfortable tight-fitting sleeveless red shirt he uses as a costume.

3 Robin (Tim Drake)

Technically there are two Robin's that have been in Teen Titans. Tim Drake has dawned the Robin costume since 1989 and then there is the misguided and highly psychotic Jason Todd, who as an adult, became the Red Hood and one of Batman's arch enemies. As far as Tim Drake's Robin is concerned, his costume needed a much-needed upgrade from its original model. He now looks like a serious superhero with his darker personality and utility belt forming an X on his chest.

2 Raven

Raven

Raven didn't just get a modern upgrade from her original costume, she acquired a whole new look. Darkness emanates from her and it is easy to tell as her eyes glow beneath her purple hood.

Her new outfit is skin-tight, showing off her sexy physic as she patrols the city in knee-high boots and a cape. The whole color scheme and look is quite appealing for a character that is meant to be a little mysterious with a hint of demon-possessed evil trapped deep within her soul.

1 Cyborg

Cyborg stands in front of an American flag

Cyborg's robotic body is his costume. This cybernetic suit just makes his character appear to be so ahead of his time as far as his appearance goes. No matter which variation, whether it be comic, TV show or movie, he just has a look of someone from the future. It is just an appearance that is ageless and will still look good 20 years from now. His overall bleak backstory paired with his cybernetic abilities makes him one of the more interesting Teen Titans.
