The comic book miniseries Avengers: Tech-On Avengers is nearing its end, with Earth's Mightiest Heroes scrambling to defend Japan from a familiar foe now towering over cities like a monstrous kaiju and powered by a symbiote.

In a preview from Tech-On Avengers #5, a version of the symbiote supervillain Scream strikes Osaka, prompting the Avengers to rally together and save the Japanese city. The six-issue miniseries follows the heroes after they've had their superpowers removed by the Red Skull, causing the Avengers to use customized power suits developed by Iron Man that replicate their powers and allow them to engage the growing number of cosmic supervillains. In the penultimate issue of Tech-On Avengers, these power suits are put to the test against the colossal Scream symbiote. Tech-On Avengers #5 is written by Jim Zub, illustrated by Jeffrey "Chamba" Cruz and lettered by VC's Travis Lanham. Also included is the standard cover illustrated by Eiichi Shimizu and Tomohiro Shimoguchi.

  • A kaiju-sized Scream symbiote is on a rampage, and the Iron Avengers will need every scrap of Infinite Mirror Shard energy they have to try to hold her back. But can the team even stay together when one of their own is corrupted by the Red Skull's ever-expanding power? Avengers Tech-On is a sentai-inspired action-adventure series produced in partnership with Bandai Namco of Japan, written by Jim Zub (UNCANNY AVENGERS, CHAMPIONS) and illustrated by Jeff “Chamba” Cruz (VENOM: THE END)!

Made into association with Bandai Namco, Tech-On Avengers has the Red Skull use shards from the Infinity Stones to alter reality and strip the Avengers of their powers while creating monstrous facsimiles of the Marvel Universe's greatest supervillains. Obtaining several Infinity Mirror Shards for himself, Tony Stark was able to construct armor to compensate for this. However, the Red Skull remains on the loose as the Avengers scramble to save the day and discover a way to restore their powers. While the Avengers find themselves relying increasingly on the shards, they will learn that this upgrade comes at a cost, corrupting them in the escalating fight against the cosmically upgraded Red Skull.

In addition to Scream, past issues of Tech-On Avengers pitted the armored Avengers against similarly upgraded iterations of Loki, Venom and Ultron, prompting Earth's Mightiest Heroes to step up their game. Helping the Avengers turn the tide is the surprise return of Sunfire, the Japanese superhero and former member of the X-Men, boasting a hi-tech customized power suit of his own.

Written by Jim Zub, illustrated by Jeffrey "Chamba" Cruz and lettered by VC's Travis Lanham, Avengers: Tech-On Avengers #5 goes on sale Dec. 22 from Marvel Comics.
