DC Comics has found quite a bit of success with its Digital First program, and one of the most popular of its digital offerings is Tom Taylor's "Injustice: Gods Among Us" prequel comic, which explores the years leading up to the totalitarian rule of Superman's regime in the video game's alternate Earth. IGN reports that the upcoming "Injustice: Year Three" digital series will debut in September and marks a return to the weekly format. Joining Taylor are artists Bruno Redondo, Mike S. Miller and Tom Derenick. "Year Three" will continue the conflict between Batman and Superman as well as introduce magic into the mix as John Constantine joins the battle.

"I've been fortunate enough to write most of my absolute favorite characters in the DC Universe but to be able to focus on the magical side and to be able to bring in John Constantine is a huge moment," Taylor told IGN. "'Hellblazer' is one of my favorite horror comics of all time, and Constantine is an incredible character to get to play with. As soon as I thought of pitting the occult hero against Superman's regime, I had to see it. I think the entire pitch was 'Constantine versus Superman' and [editor] Jim [Chadwick] was immediately on board. All of the other magical characters that come with it are going to make this one hell of a story too, and Batman having to team up with the cynical Mage should be a heap of fun."

Additionally, "Injustice: Gods Among Us Annual" #2 is set to hit print on October 1, featuring stories by Taylor and Marguerite Bennett with art by Jheremy Raapack and David Yardin. The issue focuses on Hal Jordan and Sinestro, as well as Commissioner Gordon and the Birds of Prey.

"Injustice: Year Three" begins September 30.
