For over two decades, One Piece has built a vast cast of characters. From the tiny Tonttata tribe to the towering elephant of Zou to mysterious beings fans have only caught a glimpse of, the characters and creatures of One Piece come in every shape, size, and color.

While giants are the most overtly giant race, plenty of other people have done a surprisingly good job at rivaling them in scale and power. Both Fish-Men and Merfolk are well known to grow to great size, but even some humans have managed to give the more titanic races a run for their money.

Updated on January 31st, 2024, by Xandalee Joseph: One Piece characters are known for their varying appearances, abilities, and sizes. While following Monkey D. Luffy's journey to becoming the next Pirate King, fans are introduced to several incredible characters, many of them so large and tall that our beloved heroes look like ants from their point of view.

10 Best What If...? Stories That Could Work in One Piece
From Ace's death to Bon Clay's change of heart, One Piece would be a completely different anime if things went differently.

Jerry is unlikely to win any popularity contests among One Piece fans, even if they remember he existed. As one of the most obscure characters, he does manage to at least have one notable trait: his massive 22-foot height, standing slightly higher than even Whitebeard.

Appearing during the ride on Puffing Tom during the Water 7 arc, Jerry is one of the earliest tall-humans to be introduced, though they would become a staple as the series went on. Despite his height, his appearance was brief, only showing up long enough to fight and lose against Sanji after quite literally tying himself in a knot.

14 Bartholomew Kuma Became A Tool For The World Government

While Bartholomew Kuma has primarily been an antagonistic force, especially after the Pacifista were created in his image, he did also seek to protect the Thousand Sunny after the events of the Summit War arc. He went as far as to personally guard the ship during the time skip despite his mind supposedly being wiped by his final transformation.

Her Kumo Kumo no Mi, Model: Rosamygale Grauvogeli is unique in several ways, being not only one of the few Zoan-type Devil Fruit to use the scientific name of its respective animal but also allowing her to turn into a centaur-like hybrid form rather than the more common anthropomorphic shapes that Zoan fruits tend to grant.

10 Charlotte Linlin/Big Mom Practically Ruled The New World

Height

28'10½"

First Appearance

Episode 571

Currently the tallest human yet introduced, Big Mom stood tall even as a child, towering above many of her peers among the orphans of Elbaf in her youth and possessing a stature that could compete with some full-blooded giants. The story of her growth has never truly been explained, though she did have a distinct penchant for the Elbaf dessert known as Somla in her youth.

Her strange Soru Soru (literally "soul soul") no Mi Devil Fruit has allowed her to create the friends she lacked as a youth, imbuing objects with fragments of stolen souls to aid in her control of Whole Cake Island and much of Totto Land as well.

9 Neptune Is A Kind And Just Ruler

A giant even among Merfolk, Neptune rules as the loud and jovial king of Ryugu on Fishman Island. A caring father to princess Shirahoshi, he has a habit of shouting his name at random. With a knowledge of the existence of the Void Century and the Poneglpyhs, he seems to know more than his casual exterior might let on.

His daughter Shirahoshi is notable for having inherited the powers of the ancient weapon Poseidon. As of yet, Shirahoshi has only used her power for good.

Height

A member of the Numbers in the Beasts Pirates, Hatcha was subjected to gigantification experiments on Punk Hazard before he was recruited by Kaidou. While the experiments failed, their results granted Hatcha his intimidating statue and giant-like lifespan.

His weapon of choice – a massive spiked club – suits his size quite well, allowing Hatcha to utilize his advanced physique in battle. Yet, his uncontrollable swings are known to cause tons of unnecessary collateral damage, as showcased during his drunken attack on Luffy, Zoro, Kid, and Killer.

Despite his Devil Fruit, he can still navigate the seas with relative ease, as his amazing height allows him to simply walk along the ocean floor in most places.
