Talia al Ghul will not appear in Ben Affleck's "The Batman," according to an anonymous source via The Wrap. And neither will her father, leader of the League of Assassins and notorious Batman villain Ra's al Ghul. The two characters may have a long, intertwining history with Batman and the DC Comic Universe, but neither are slated to appear in any upcoming DC Universe films despite the wishes of some interested in Affleck's upcoming movie.

Actress Teresa Palmer ("Message from the King") said during an interview that she was highly interested in playing the daughter of the Demon.

“I was going to be her. I think Marion Cotillard played, I don’t know how to pronounce her last name by the way, she played Talia al Ghul in one of the Batmans,” Palmer said. “I remember thinking, okay well, obviously she’s going to play Talia al Ghul, but if there’s ever an opportunity I would absolutely love it. Put it out there. Can you put it out there for me?”

It is unknown what characters will show up in "The Batman" as shooting hasn't started yet and won't begin until the spring of 2017.

Talia al Ghul was played by Marion Cotillard in Christopher Nolan's "The Dark Knight Rises" in 2012. Ra's al Ghul also appeared in the Nolan trilogy played by Liam Neeson, and the character also featured as a villain on  "Arrow" played by Matt Nable.

Affleck is directing and starring in the latest Batman solo film and is also co-writing the script with DC-Films head Geoff Johns.
