Roles and status quo have shifted dramatically across the DC Universe in the upcoming Infinite Frontier era, including Damian Wayne and his mother Talia al Ghul in the pages of the upcoming Robin solo series.

At the end of Dark Nights: Death Metal, Talia was seen among the Totality, a group of heroes and villains aware of the new state of the DC Multiverse after its rebirth. This heightened responsibility will inform her role in Robin, launching this April by Joshua Williamson and Gleb Melnikov following up from back-up stories in March's Batman #106 and Detective Comics #1034.

"Talia has stepped up into a big role in the DCU too, she's in the Totality. She's one of those big characters and knows a lot of the stuff going on so she has her own thing to worry about. She has her own plans and her own ideas of what she wants to do," Williamson tells CBR. "She has big plans you'll see over this next year and having her son come back, she's very excited that he's finally coming home. She's still Talia so it's not hugs and high fives but her talking to him to see what his next role is going to be and Damian having to make a decision is what those two back-ups are about."

In the events leading up to Death Metal, Damian Wayne was on the outs with the rest of the Bat Family, after openly employing lethal force in direct violation of his father's orders. While Damian and Bruce Wayne made a reconciliation of sorts, Damian is still torn between his Boy Wonder responsibilities and his dark destiny as the grandson of Ra's al Ghul.

Written by Joshua Williamson and illustrated by Gleb Melnikov, Robin #1 goes on sale Tuesday, April 27 from DC. Batman #106 and Detective Comics #1034, featuring back-up stories starring Damian by Williamson and Melnikov, go on sale March 2 and March 23, respectively.
