DC puts a new spin on the highest-selling comic book storyline ever with Tales from the Dark Multiverse: The Death of Superman, and while the comic doesn't arrive until the end of October, the publisher has released an early preview showcasing its new, dark twist on Lois Lane.

The one-shot is the first in a new line of prestige-format one-shots that will explore how classic DC storylines unfolded in the DC Universe's dark underbelly. The line kicks off with Tales from the Dark Multiverse: The Death of Superman, from the creative team of Jeff Loveness, Brad Walker, Andrew Hennessey, Norm Rapmund and Lee Weeks. The over-sized one-shot explores what happens in a reality where the Man of Steel's demise at the hands of Doomsday leads to Lois Lane gaining powers and setting out on a bloody mission of revenge.

"In a broken world much like our own, Lois Lane, twisted by rage and grief, becomes the Eradicator and takes revenge on those who let Superman die, and the corrupt world he could never defeat," DC's official synopsis reads. "Now, with the power of a god, she's going to end the battle by any means necessary...and the Reign of the Supermen will be over before it begins!"
