News broke in December that Bill Jemas, the former Marvel executive who helped turned around the once-bankrupt company, had joined with video game publisher Take-Two Interactive to launch a comics imprint. Jemas said at the time that plans were still in the early stages for the new venture, which will focus on developing new properties rather than titles based on the Take-Two catalog. But now the company is ramping up its efforts by staffing the new comics division, which officially has a name: Double Take.

Take-Two lists openings for two positions: digital business manager/marketer and publishing business manager - print & digital. They confirm the company will be publishing "comic books, graphic novels, digital storyboards and online videos," and that Double Take's offices will be in New York City, where Take-Two is located. Earlier this year Take-Two had several other positions posted, but they've since been removed -- presumably because they were filled. The publisher has an open-door policy for comic creators to pitch them, and Jemas himself circulated his email to creators.

"Take-Two prides itself on its entertaining properties," Jemas told CBR in December, "and they'd like to expand the means for developing good, new content. They feel, I feel, that comic books, graphic novels, digital storyboards -- the whole range of graphic fiction is a very efficient, effective, really fun way to do that. They've set up a small group and asked me to lead it to create new properties."
