Irregular Choice's dazzling Star Wars-inspired high heels are works of art in themselves, but if you're not quite ready to throw down $300 or so for a pair of shoes -- even ones with lightsaber heels! -- there's an affordable DIY alternative.

Instructibles provides a how-to for creating show-stopping BB-8 shoes that feature little spinning droids for the heels. Yes, they spin!

All that's required is a pair of 2-inch pumps, wood balls, slender metal posts and a bit of craftiness (that last part is probably important, as I'm sure I'm not equipped to handle any DIY projects).

However, if you don't get what all the BB-8 fuss is about, there are also instructions for making R2-D2 heels.
