The behind-the-scenes photos hit the web just days after Guardians of the Galaxy actress Karen Gillan confirmed she will reprise her role as Nebula in Waititi's next installment in the Thor franchise, Thor: Love and Thunder. "I'm not, this is the REAL DEAL. This is my hair," Gillan said of her shorter hairdo in a recent Instagram story. "I cut it the other day in preparation for Nebula, so that we don't have to get so much hair into the bald cap because I have so much hair, it's unbelievable. It's just so thick."

Gillan is the latest member of the Guardians cast to join the film, following announcements that Chris Pratt (Peter Quill/Star-Lord) and Vin Diesel (Alpha Groot) would also appear. Recent reports also suggested Matt Damon will return for a cameo, after appearing in Thor: Ragnarok as a stage actor portraying Loki in an Asgardian play.
