Summary
The Blob is a remake of the 1958 film which shares the same name, now directed by Chuck Russell and written by Russell and Frank Darabont (The Walking Dead.) When a wandering older man stumbles across a fallen meteorite in Arborville, California, gooey-blob-like substance bonds to his hand and harms him. Discovered by three high schoolers, he is taken to the hospital, where the Blob has begun to grow and is consuming the older man. The survivors find that this substance is a sentient alien life that produces and consumes human beings. The Blob begins to spread throughout the town and attacks anyone it can from anywhere and it becomes a race against the clock to warn the rest of the city before it's too late. The Blob is a sci-fi/horror film with mystery elements, as the town tries to figure out how the Blob came to be. The remake of The Blob was released on August 5 1988.
