Summary
From the mind of Stephen King and director Rob Reiner comes Stand By Me, an American Drama film adapted from King's novella, "The Body." When Writer Gordie Lachance comes across an article in a newspaper about a stabbing, the past is brought to light when he remembers when he and his group of friends heard about a young missing boy who died. This sets off the boys' group on a quest for notoriety as they arm themselves and head off into the wilderness to find the body. Stand By Me focuses on this fateful adventure between the four, the trials and tribulations of youth and growing up, and what defines friendship. The film spent most of its time set in the past and was released in theaters in the United States on August 22 1986, with an initial limited release on August 8 1986.
