Summary
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet mark the next entries in the mainline Pokemon series post Sword and Shield, set in the new region of Paldea, a fictional locale based on Mediterranean Spain. This next entry in the storied franchise will put a much larger emphasis on open-world exploration and give players exclusive Pokemon types that can transform into vehicles for quicker and more diverse exploration. Scarlet and Violet will also mark the first entry to approach non-linear storytelling. The game has three different storylines that can be done at any time; Pokemon Gyms may also be tackled in any order. Scarlet and Violet will also introduce the new Terastallize feature; this new feature will give Pokemon a dazzling jewel above their head and make the pokemon shine like a gemstone, unlocking new powers for each one. Finally, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will also introduce co-op play, allowing up to four players to explore the world together.
