Clash of the Titans 2
Production has officially begun on the Clash of the Titans sequel, with the previous film's female lead Gemma Arterton confirmed as not returning.
The former Bond girl, who was reportedly on the shortlist to play the female lead in the Superman reboot, will replace Alexa Davalos as the princess of Argos in the sequel to 2010's Clash of the Titans.
Jonathan Liebesman had been confirmed as the director for the sequel to this year's surprise hit remake of Clash of The Titans, based on the strength of his as-yet unreleased alien invasion flick, Battle: Los Angeles. And a new director isn't the only change for the second installment.
Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures are looking to push a Clash of the Titans sequel in development so as to avoid Sam Worthington's Avatar commitments, according to reports. Battle: Los Angeles director Jonathan Liebesman is reportedly a top contender to direct.
