WARNING: The following contains major spoilers for Symbiote Spider-Man: Crossroads #3, available now from Marvel Comics.

Symbiote Spider-Man: Crossroads has sent the wall-crawler tumbling through time and space alongside an enraged and confused Hulk. Most recently, the duo crash landed in the dense jungles of Dinosaur World to disastrous results. While Spider-Man was lucky enough to be saved by Devil Dinosaur and Moon Boy, Bruce Banner hasn't been so fortunate. Symbiote Spider-Man: Crossroads #3 (by Peter David, Greg Land, Jay Leisten, Frank D'Armata, and VC's Joe Sabino) reveals that Banner has fallen into the clutches of the prehistoric Killer-Folk, and they're about to introduce him to what might be the oldest eight-legged villain in the Marvel Universe.

When Spider-Man and the Hulk first arrived on Dinosaur World, the battle between them came to a disastrous end. The Norn Stone was freed from Spider-Man's forehead and lodged with the Hulk, turning him back into Bruce Banner. Before he could get his bearings, Banner was abducted by the most malevolent of Dinosaur World's natives, while Spider-Man was stuck in quicksand. Thankfully, the wall-crawler was saved from a gruesome fate by Moon Boy and Devil Dinosaur, who inform him that Banner has been taken by the Killer-Folk.

First introduced in 1978's Devil Dinosaur #1 (by Jack Kirby), the Killer-Folk are the most aggressive of all the tribes who inhabit Dinosaur World. The Killer-Folk have traditionally tormented the more peaceful tribes and have menaced Devil Dinosaur and Moon Boy, with them once attempting to sacrifice the prehistoric hero.

As simple as they might seem, the Killer-Folk are more than simple savages. They have their own deity who they worship devoutly, a massive, prehistoric spider known as Long-Legs, and they regularly bring the creature living sacrifices. Banner is offered up as the newest sacrifice, and with the Norn Stone currently keeping him from transforming into the powerful green-skinned Hulk, he is unable to regain consciousness or put up a fight.

Although Spider-Man and his new allies are rushing to rescue the seemingly powerless Banner, there is little chance that they will arrive in time to prevent the frail human from becoming the next meal of the prehistoric spider.

Things look grim for the man who houses the power of the Incredible Hulk. His best hope now rests with the mysteriously powerful  Norn Stone that has chosen for whatever reason to bond with him.
