Warning: The following contains spoilers for Venom #24, by Donny Cates, Mark Bagley, Andy Owens, Frank Martin and VC's Clayton Cowles, on sale now.

The Venom symbiote is a formidable force on its own, as any of its former and current hosts or foes will attest to. What makes the Klyntar being so dangerous is that whatever the symbiote is attached to or how it is utilized can multiply its strength. In Old Man Logan, the symbiote attached itself to a Tyrannosaurus Rex, creating one of the most terrifying versions of the entity to date. That was some time ago, but in the pages of Venom #24, the prehistoric powerhouse has returned.

While the first appearance of the Venomized T-Rex was in Old Man Logan, its origin was actually explained in Old Man Hawkeye. When Baron Zemo unleashed Bullseye and the Venom Symbiote-augmented Multiple Man to hunt down Hawkeye, he found them incredibly hard to shake. To get rid of the multiplying symbiotes, he lured them into the barren planes of the wasteland, right into the path of a large, angry T-Rex.

Venom T-Rex

Originally from the Savage Land, the dinosaurs were imported for the amusement of the villains that now ruled the United States. Once the large beast had set upon the Multiple Men that were hosting Venom, the symbiote acknowledged the strength of the dinosaur in comparison to their mutant host. Instead of being consumed by the T-Rex, they took control of it. It would show up later, in the aforementioned Old Man Logan story, to pursue Hawkeye once more.

In addition to the Symbiote T-Rex of the Old Man Logan timeline, there was also a Klyntar applied to an injured Vietnam War Veteran by S.H.I.E.L.D. that often took the form of a T-Rex. Part of the infamous and powerful Grendel symbiote, it would come into conflict with Wolverine, Nick Fury and Venom. Later, it would take a turn for the better. Using the virtue of its host, Rex Strickland, it made a heroic sacrifice to help Eddie Brock defeat Grendel and its evil master, Knull.

However, Eddie Brock currently finds himself in a woeful predicament in the latest issue of Venom. He's still trapped on The Island, locked in a battle with his most vicious foe, Carnage. What's worse is that he has been separated from the Venom Symbiote and overtaken by Carnage. With Eddie being consumed by the murderous Carnage symbiote and Venom retreating into the jungle to regain its strength, things look dire for the anti-hero.

Dylan Brock Symbiote

Meanwhile, Dylan is concerned that his father might be in grave danger. Using his uncanny connection to the symbiotes gained in the Absolute Carnage event, he reaches out to try and locate his father, but finds only his father's lone symbiote. Dylan reaches out, forming a strange portal into a place where he can fully connect with a symbiote remotely, akin to the way the villainous Knull has influence over the Klyntar.

Dylan and the Venom symbiote agree to use this newfound ability of Dylan's to team up and Eddie's son effectively begins to pilot the Klyntar. Under the cover of the jungle, Dylan assists Venom in finding a way to take the form of a Tyrannosaurus Rex. The stage is set once more for a monolithic conflict between Carnage and Venom, with the return of the Venomized T-Rex flattening the jungle as it barrels towards the imperiled Brock.
