Sylvester Stallone is poised to reprise one of his most iconic roles in an Instagram post teasing the return of 80s action hero John Rambo.

Based on the acclaimed novel 1972 First Blood written by David Morrell, the Rambo franchise followed a Vietnam War veteran unable to escape a life of violence upon his return to the United States and later attempts to find peace in remote locations abroad. The action film series began with the 1982 film First Blood starring Stallone as John Rambo which spawned three sequels released in 1985, 1988, and 2008.

Originally, Stallone had been expected to star in a fourth and final Expendables film which was scheduled to begin production this summer but the project was delayed after Stallone instead signed to star in a fifth Rambo film.
