Sylvester Stallone's next act takes him into the world of organized crime.

Variety reports the veteran actor has signed on to star in Scarpa for director Brad Furman and Millennium Films. It tells the true story of hit man Gregory Scarpa, who was an enforcer with the Colombo family as well as an FBI informant. Scarpa pled guilty in 1993 to three murders, and died from AIDS complications in 1994 while in prison.

Scarpa comes from a script written by Goodfellas and Casino writer Nicholas Pileggi. There's no word on a release or production start date.
