There are more undead heading to SyFy as the network just announced a third season for the zombie drama Z Nation.

The show which promotes itself as a sickly satirical take on the zombie genre is currently in the middle of its second season, and as the Hollywood Reporter offers, it's 1.5 million viewers each week is enough to convince the cable network that it's worth keeping the series around while some others are wrapping their runs. This season, the show grabbed headlines for casting Song of Ice & Fire novelist George RR Martin as an undead version of himself. The third season will run for 15 episodes.

Karl Schaefer of Eureka serves as showerunner for the drama which has featured Harold Perrineau, DJ Qualls, Tom Everett Scott, Michael Welch, Kellita Smith, Anastasia Baranova, Russel Hodgkingson and Keith Allan.
