Ahead of its Season 4 premiere, Syfy's adaptation of The Magicians has already been renewed for a fifth season.
An adaptation of the Lev Grossman book series of the same name, the network announced the series had been picked up for a new season, as it has become popular with streaming audiences.
"We couldn’t be happier or more excited to conjure another year of magic and all it entails — love, hate, loyalty, betrayal, sex, foul language, drugs, battling gods, monsters and the most dangerous enemies of all: other human beings," co-showrunners and executive producers Sera Gamble and John McNamara said in a written statement. "We have the best writers, producers, directors, cast and crew in the charted multiverse. Here’s how strongly we believe this: anyone who tries to poach a single one of them will be cursed. And we have the voodoo dolls to do it."
The upcoming fourth season is expected to pick where the third season finale's cliffhanger ending left off, with the young spellcasters experiencing amnesia and struggling to remember who they are and what they are up against.
Returning on January 23 on Syfy at 9 pm ET/PT, The Magicians stars Jason Ralph, Olivia Taylor Dudley, Summer Bishil, Stella Maeve, Hale Appleman, Arjun Gupta, Rick Worthy, Jade Tailor, Trevor Einhorn and Brittany Curran.
