Smallville and Veronica Mars actor Aaron Ashmore will join Syfy's hit series Warehouse 13 for its third season, the network announced.

He'll play Steve Jinks, an agent with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives who possesses the innate ability to detect when someone is lying. He's recruited by Mrs. Frederic (CCH Pounder) to be Peter Lattimer's (Eddie McClintock) partner, replacing Myka Bering (Joanne Kelly), who resigned from the Warehouse in the Season 2 finale.

Premiering in July 2009, Warehouse 13 follows a team of federal agents assigned to a massive, top-secret storage facility in South Dakota housing every strange artifact and mystical relic ever collected by the U.S. government. Saul Rubinek and Allison Scagliotti also star as the Warehouse's caretaker Artie Nielsen and his young apprentice Claudia Donovan.

Ashmore, twin brother of X-Men movie franchise actor Shawn Ashmore, appeared as Troy Vandegraff on the cult-hit series Veronica Mars before being cast as Jimmy Olsen on Smallville. He and his brother also recently guest-starred on an episode of Fringe.

Warehouse 13 returns for its third season this summer on Syfy.
