After battling countless airborne sharks in the popular Sharknado film series, Ian Ziering is taking on the undead in Syfy's latest original television movie Zombie Tidal Wave.
Premiering this weekend on Syfy, the upcoming film has released its final trailer. In it, a tsunami containing waterlogged zombies strikes a coastal town, with devastatingly ravenous effect. Fortunately, Ziering -- who also produces the movie -- is there to save the day with his trusty sword and rocket launcher.
As a seaside fisherman, Ziering's character Hunter Shaw notices undead masses flaying in the surf, carried to land by a massive tidal wave. After the beachfront residents are summarily devoured, it's up to Hunter to take his town back from the zombie horde.
Delightfully irreverent and wacky, the trailer showcases everything from surfing zombies to other fun-filled zombie set pieces, as the characters slice and dice the ghouls swarming their town with any weapons readily available.
Directed and co-written by Anthony C. Ferrante, Zombie Tidal Wave stars Ian Ziering, Erich Chikashi Linzbichler, Shelton Jolivette, Cheree Cassidy and Tatum Chiniquy. The television premieres on August 17 at 9pm ET/PT on Syfy.
