Through three seasons, Vanessa Van Helsing (Kelly Overton) has fought as part of the family lineage of the legendary Abraham Van Helsing, protecting the world after the Rising.

Now, in Van Helsing Season 4, she may get the chance to face off with Dracula, following in the footsteps of her great-great-great-grandfather. However, the Syfy series has thrown a twist into the proceedings and cast Battlestar Galactica veteran Tricia Helfer as the legendary vampire.

Deadline reports the actress who portrayed Number Six on the Syfy reboot of Battlestar Galactica, as well as the Lucifer's mother during its Fox run, will take on the role of Dracula, one of five new cast members added to the 13-episode fourth season of Van Helsing.

“She will be a fierce and unstoppable DARK ONE (Dracula)…as the battle between good and evil reaches new heights,” executive producer Chad Oakes said in a statement.

Season 3 of Van Helsing ended with Vanessa finding the Fourth Elder and realizing it was someone she knew all along. It also saw Vanessa inadvertently revive her grandmother, Lily Van Helsing. While Sam becoming the Fourth Elder made it look like he was going to become the big bad for Season 4, there isn't a bigger bad than Dracula -- unless the show plans to subvert the character into something different.

The other additions include Richard Harmon (The 100), Nicole Munoz (Defiance), Keeya King (Jigsaw) and WWE superstar Big Show. While Helfer will portray Dracula, the other four actors' roles remain undisclosed.

Van Helsing will return for its 13-episode fourth season this fall, with an expected October premiere date.
