SYFY recently shared a preview of its new television series, The Movie Show, where puppets imagine a different kind of Batman -- one that sings and is a nun.

The Movie Show's clip was released on SYFY's YouTube channel, featuring two puppets named Wade and Deborah -- Wade voiced by Adam Dubowsky and Alex Stone respectively -- pitching a Batman film that shares a plotline similar to 1992's Sister Act.

In the clip, Wade says he's bored of Batman films seemingly having a very similar plot and wants something original to emerge from the caped crusader franchise. Wade pitches his original idea of "Musical Batman: Batman The Musical," which finds the Dark Knight going undercover as a nun after witnessing a murder. Deborah wisely points out that this is the same plot as Sister Act, which leads Wade to cast Whoopi Goldberg as Batman. The clip ends with a musical number titled, "I Witnessed A Murder."

The Movie Show features Wade and Deborah delivering their unique opinions on films, including Back to the Future and Wonder Woman 1984. In addition to providing voice work, Dubowsky and Stone serve as executive producers alongside Bob Unger and Sam Sarkoob. The show will focus on the "biggest genre blockbusters," as reported by SYFY Wire.

SYFY Wire also shared biographical information about its fictional/puppet show hosts. "Wade is The Movie Show's resident cinema expert and according to his mother, he's also its resident "handsome little man." When it comes to big, expensive movies, he enjoys explosions, fast cars, and CGI monsters that destroy major metropolitan areas. In terms of career prospects, he's an aspiring writer/director/producer/future guy that gets those free movie screeners. His list of influences includes his friend Brian from TikTok, and whoever directed those GEICO caveman commercials," SYFY reported.

"Deb, on the other hand, has an encyclopedic repertoire of nerd-based knowledge. Also a film critic for Modesto Bird, she's not afraid to share her strong opinions on movies and comic book. You can ask Deb pretty much anything about pop culture, but whatever you do, don't ask for her to take her Jurassic Park action figures out of their boxes as it will severely compromise their $44 value."

The Movie Show premiered its first episode on Nov. 27. Its second episode will premiere on Sunday, Nov. 29. Both episodes will also air at 11:35 p.m. EST on Sunday as well as part of a holiday weekend event for the network.

SYFY has slowly been expanding its slate of comedy programming, including its animation block TZGZ, which features shows such as Magical Girl Friendship Squad. It also debuted SYFY Wire's The Great Debate earlier this year, which saw its guests discuss various topics in pop culture. The Great Debate is based on an annual panel SYFY holds at San Diego Comic-Con.

The Movie Show will premiere at its regular Thursday timeslot starting on Dec. 3 at 11 p.m. ET. Its first season will consist of 12 episodes.
