SyFy's hit comedy series Resident Alien is back for Season 2 with a new teaser trailer and a behind-the-scenes featurette.

The 20-second teaser starts with a shot of Dr. Harry Vanderspeigle (Alan Tudyk) in a hospital bed with a head wound immediately confessing that he's an alien. A title card then promises that the show is "back to answer your questions." A montage of shots re-introduces the other series leads, all with their own questions. Asta (Sara Tomko) wants to know why Harry has a fallout shelter, D'Arcy (Alice Wetterlund) wonders what Asta is keeping from her and Harry, as seen in his alien form by kids Max (Judah Prehn) and Sahar (Gracelyn Awad Rinke), asks...a very Harry question.

The 5-minute BTS featurette starts with Tudyk narrating as Harry, who delivers a recap of the show's first season, including the crash of his alien spaceship, his murder and assumption of Dr. Harry's form, how he integrated with the townspeople, took on a medical practice and built relationships with Asta and Max. All of this while solving a murder and attempting to find his lost ship and its mass extinction device.

Tomko excitedly welcomes viewers back while Tudyk provides a first look at the upcoming season. "Season one, the stakes were high. Season two, they're really high again," he says. Corey Reynolds, who plays sheriff Mike Thompson, promises, "We're cooking up some pretty awesome shit for you guys." There are also shots of storyboards as Tudyk gives a little insight into what's happening in the town of Patience, Colorado. The featurette also includes a gag reel, along with deputy Liv Baker (Elizabeth Bowen) offering that there will be "more kissing" and "a lot more of the women together and exploring more of the women's friendships."

Alex Borstein (Family GuyThe Marvelous Mrs. Maisel) also introduced her new character, Carlyn, saying, "She makes a little visit to Patience, Colorado where she comes across Harry and delights in him." The featurette also revealed the villains for Season 2 and confirmed that Lisa (Mandell Maughan) and General McAllister (Linda Hamilton) will return for the second season after abducting the wrong doctor that they mistook for Harry.

Syfy announced earlier this year that it renewed Resident Alien for Season 2. The show, at the time, held the title as the most-watched new cable drama in the last year in total viewers. It was also Syfy's highest-rated new drama in more than six years in total viewers and earned the second-biggest time-shifting gain for any cable drama in the last year in total viewers.

Resident Alien is based on the Dark Horse comic by Peter Hogan and Steve Parkhouse. Season 2 does not yet have a release date.
