Confirmed: Syfy's Lobo Series Will Star Krypton Actor

Lobo in the Krypton Season 2 premiere

As CBR reported earlier today, Syfy is currently developing a spinoff of its pre-Superman series, Krypton. The proposed spinoff will feature Lobo, the last Czarnian, an invulnerable intergalactic bounty hunter. CBR has now confirmed that the role of Lobo in the spinoff will be filled by Emmett J. Scanlan, the actor playing the Main Man in Krypton's second season.

Krypton is set generations before young Kal-El's fateful flight to Earth, and tells the story of his ancestors and their struggles. Season 2, which premieres tonight, will feature Lobo, alongside Seg-El, Adam Strange and the rest of the series ensemble cast.

Created in 1983 by DC creators Roger Slifer and Keith Giffen, Lobo is best known for his various series throughout the 1990s. Though originally intended to parody the "grim 'n' gritty" aesthetic of '90s superhero comics, the character's popularity eventually led to a 64 issue series that ran from 1993 to 1999.

Returning tonight on Syfy, Krypton stars Cameron Cuffe as Seg-El, Shaun Sipos as Adam Strange, Georgina Campbell as Lyta-Zod, Elliot Cowan as Daron-Vex, Ann Ogbomo as Jayna-Zod, Rasmus Hardiker as Kem, Wallis Day as Nyssa-Vex, Aaron Pierre as Dev-Em, Ian McElhinney as Val-El, and Blake Ritson as Brainiac.
