Syfy is importing the New Zealand fantasy comedy/drama The Almighty Johnsons, to air on the cable channel beginning July 11.

The series, which originally ran for three seasons, follows four seemingly ordinary brothers just happen to be descended from Norse gods -- even if they don't yet possess their full powers. In the first season, they set out in search of Frigg in hop3w or fulfilling an ancient prophecy so they might inherit their full abilities. Here's the official description:

The action-packed The Almighty Johnsons follows the Johnson boys, four typical fun-loving guys who have inherited the power of Norse Gods. But the Johnson brothers are no flashy superheroes. Everyday Gods have everyday struggles - searching for love, overcoming sibling rivalry and fulfilling their God-like destiny - while still enjoying a few beers with their mates.

The 10-episode first season is set to premiere Friday, July 11 at 10 p.m. ET/PT. Syfy hopes The Almighty Johnsons will have success along the same lines as other imported shows like Continuum, Lost Girl, Bitten and Metal Hurlant Chronicles.
