The show isn't even midway through its fourth season, but Syfy's Eureka has already been given word that it has another year to play with.

The news follows the series' successful reboot this year, with a time travel element in the first episode of the season that not only changed continuity but also the roles of many of the main cast, giving them new purpose and character arcs (Some for the first time: I'm looking at you, Lupo), and re-energizing the show considerably. Mark Stern, the network's EVP of original programming, said,

Eureka remains a steadfast performer for Syfy with its superb cast and perfect blend of drama, comedy and eye candy... Given what Jaime [Paglia, creator and showrunner], Bruce [Miller, executive producer] and their entire team have done collectively to reinvent the show this year, we can’t wait to see what’s in store for season 5.

Eureka airs Friday nights on Syfy.
