During the featurette, Sweet Tooth show creator and co-showrunner Jim Mickle stated, "I read Sweet Tooth when it first came out. I finished it and loved it. I think it was Jeff Lemire's voice and that way that he brings so much of himself."

In reply, Lemire, the author and artist of the graphic novel, said, "As soon as I heard how inline his vision was with what I'd originally created, I felt like it was in really good hands."

Executive producer Susan Downey shared, "Whether you're making a feature or you're doing television, you try and figure out what's your true north. And for us, Gus was that true north."

In discussing the changes to the source material, the Downeys said, "The graphic novels were a little darker, a bit more foreboding. We felt we could really hold on to the themes, but make it a more enjoyable place." Lemire speaks positively of the changes, saying, "Some of the best parts of the show are some of the new characters."

"Credit to our amazing production team," said Beth Schwartz, the show's co-executive producer and co-showrunner. "The head of the art department [Nathan Blanco Fourax] and the head of costume [Amanda Neale], they saw the hopefulness and this special world. They really brought the pages to life."

Susan Downey closes by saying, "I just hope people have the experience that we get to have with our kids where we cuddle up on the couch and all watch it together."
