Filming for the first season is reportedly taking place on location in North Carolina, and is expected to run through May 2019.

An adaptation of DC/Vertigo's popular horror comic book series, Swamp Thing follows scientist Alec Holland, who is killed in a horrible blast deep in the Florida Everglades. Before dying, he stumbles out into the swamp and unwittingly bonds with it becoming the fearsome Swamp Thing who dispenses justice against those that would threaten the environment and the people he loves. The character was created in 1971's House of Secrets #92 by writer Len Wein and artist Bernie Wrightson.
