With less than a week until the show's premiere, the latest trailer for Swamp Thing highlights the series' scarier aspects in a major way.

The latest trailer for the DC Universe streaming series teases the sophisticated suspense that the character is known for, along with plenty of jump scares and gross-out body horror.

The teaser focuses on Crystal Reed's Abby Arcane, a doctor from the CDC, as she investigates a series of deaths involving a virus that seemingly causes vegetation to twist throughout its victims' bodies, which the clip shows in various states of plant-based decay. The preview also hints at some of the personal demons that Abby will have to face as she dives into the murkier side of the DC Universe over the course of the 10-episode series.

The clip only offers glimpses of Andy Bean's Alex Holland or his monstrous counterpart, Derek Mears' titular Swamp Thing, who was created by Len Wein and Bernie Wrightson in the '70s.
