Artist Jerad S. Marantz released new concept art for the Blue Devil from DC Universe's canceled Swamp Thing series.

On his Instagram, Marantz wrote, "Shame we didn’t get to see more of this guy, I was really proud of the work everyone did." He also remarked that he had an "amazing time working with [Justin Raleigh] and his team at [Fractured FX Inc.]."

Created by Dan Mishkin, Gary Cohn and Paris Cullins, Daniel Cassidy/Blue Devil first appeared in 1984's Fury of Firestorm #24. Originally a stuntman, Cassidy created the Blue Devil suit, though it wasn't until later that it became his superhero identity. Actor Ian Ziering played the character on Swamp Thing. The hero also appeared in such animated shows as Justice League Unlimited, Young Justice and Justice League Action.

Marantz previously shared concept art of a "Bug Man" character from early development. He also shared an alternate look for Jason Woodrue/Floronic Man, who was played by Kevin Durand in the show.

Swamp Thing chronicles the life of a botanist transformed into a human avatar of all the plant life on Earth and his long quest to regain his humanity as he defends the world from supernatural threats. Available now on DC Universe, the series stars Crystal Reed, Andy Bean, Derek Mears, Jennifer Beals, Henderson Wade, Will Patton, Virginia Madsen, Jeryl Prescott and Kevin Durand.
