The man in charge of DC Universe's upcoming Swamp Thing series has given fans a tantalizing and eerie glimpse behind the scenes. Director Len Wiseman took to Instagram to share a brief clip of the swamp itself, with the simple caption, "Just add water."

DC Universe first announced Wiseman's involvement in September, adding that Aquaman's James Wan will be on deck as an executive producer. The show's sci-fi and horror pedigree doesn't end there: Mark Verheiden (Timecop, Falling Skies) will head up the writing staff, and Wiseman will share directing duty with Gary Dauberman (It, Annabelle: Creation).

The Instagram post isn't the first sneak peek offered up by Wiseman. In December, he shared a video tour of the set, which showed a moodily lit Greenfield Lake surrounded by fog. The clip was shot from a gondolier and gave some idea of what the main backdrop for the series will look like.

With the breakout success of DC Universe's first series Titans, the streaming service -- which launched in the fall of last year -- has been well received. It has since gained more traction with Titans spinoff Doom Patrol and animated series Young Justice: Outsiders.

Streaming exclusively on DC Universe, Swamp Thing is expected to make its debut later this year. The series stars Crystal Reed, Leonardo Nam, Andy Bean, Derek Mears, Jennifer Beals, Henderson Wade, Will Patton, Virginia Madsen, Jeryl Prescott, Henderson Wade and Kevin Durand.
